AnnouncementThe year 2026 marks the 35th Anniversary of The First International Conference on Artificial Intelligence Applications On Wall Street (AIWS-91). The Proceedings of this Conference is available at the IEEE Computer Society Digital Library . Note that IEEE copyright fees apply. The Proceedings of the Second (1993) and Third (1995) conferences — AIWS-93 and AIWS-95 — have been out of print for several years. I am now posting these two Proceedings here. My intent (as Program Chair of all three conferences) is to provide researchers in applied artificial intelligence, practitioners of financial technology, and historians of science (and finance) with pioneering archival material that otherwise would vanish. Many of the papers from AIWS-93 and AIWS-95 are classics. For example: see this 1994 review of AIWS-93 from The Knowledge Engineering Review by John Kingston (University of Edinburgh). Seven papers of AIWS-95 have been reprinted in the 1996 Special Issue of Applied Artificial Intelligence . These papers have also been reprinted in the 2019 Routledge book edited by Stephen Slade. For AIWS-91, I am also posting the Front Matter for content that does not appear at the IEEE Digital Library (including Introduction, Program Committee, Table of Contents, and Author Index).

DedicationOrganizing AIWS-93 and AIWS-95 would have been impossible if not for the vision, foresight, and perseverance of Dr. Milton White. Dr. White founded the International Association of Knowledge Engineers, (one of the earliest credential-giving AI professional societies ). The companies he founded include Datanamics (a government contractor), the Software Engineering Press, and Systemsware Corporation. Milton and I worked closely together on projects here and in Japan. He was a very dear friend, colleague, and inspiration.
