His primary consulting interests involve solving problems associated with trading, operations, risk management, and compliance by using mathematics, statistics, and computer technology. As a consultant, he worked with stock exchanges, buy-side and sell-side firms, technology companies, startups, and government institutions. Introduction to Financial Technology, his most recent book, is published by Elsevier under their Academic Press imprint. Dr. Freedman has taught various courses related to financial systems (FinTech) and regulatory systems (RegTech) and has been affiliated with New York University Tandon School of Engineering in several full- and part- time positions over the past 40 years. His publications span the areas of trading and compliance technologies, artificial intelligence (AI), and software testability. Dr. Freedman is on the IEEE Computational Finance and Economics Technical Committee which organizes and reviews papers submitted to the Computational Intelligence for Financial Engineering and Economics (CIFEr) symposiums. He routinely reviews professional papers submitted to international journals and conferences such as the IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, the Symposium Series on Computational Intelligence; DDS-BDAF-2023 ; and CIFEr 2024 . He was the Program Chairman for the First (1991), Second (1993), and Third (1995) International Conferences on Artificial Intelligence Applications on Wall Street. Dr. Freedman received a BS and MS in Mathematics, an MS in Electrical Engineering, and a PhD in Mathematics, all from the NYU Tandon School of Engineering (formerly Polytechnic University, Polytechnic Institute of New York, Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn).
